Lithium is a white solid soft chemical compound prepared by the reaction of lithium hydroxide and Stearic acid used in high temperature lubricant. When used as a flux for welding or soldring lithium promotes the fusing of metals during and eliminates the forming of oxides.
Lithium Stearate is a chemical compound of Lithium and Stearic Acid. It is formally classified as a Soap. Lithium Stearate is a white soft powder prepared by the reaction of Lithium hydroxide and Stearic Acid. Lithium Stearate and Lithium 12 hydroxy stearate are Lithium Soaps and are components of Lithium grease. Lithium Stearate is used in high temperature lubricating greases, and as stabilizer for Cosmetics as well as the plastic industry. It is used as a corrosion inhibitor in petroleum products. Also used as catalysts in chemical synthesis and emulsifiers for emulsion of polymerization of synthetic rubber and resin.
