FRANK 830 / FRANK REGENERATOR can be used in externally fired furnaces at the temperature of 830-950°C although our FRANK 660 / FRANK REGENERATOR bath is more suitable at these temperatures. More generally FRANK 830 / FRANK REGENERATOR baths are used in furnaces fitted with ceramic linings and heat-resisting steel electrodes. Sufficient salt is added to bring the bath to the approximate working level. The temperature is then raised to 950 to 1100°C and FRANK REGENERATOR is added in the proportion of 130 gms to 100 kg of salt. The FRANK REGENERATOR tends to float on the surface of the bath, so it is necessary to stir it in using a ladle or stirrer. The bath is now brought to the required temperature and is then ready for use. Every 8 hour day the bottom of the bath should be dredged to remove sludge, the bath topped up with FRANK 830 salt to replace drag-out, then fresh FRANK REGENERATOR should be added in the proportion given above.
